Sabdes Superyacht : Luxurious and Eco-Friendly

In the world of Yachts usually, the bigger the better. Sabdes new 50m Superyacht breaks through that stereotype and sets the bar even higher by putting the environment first.

The new Yacht is not the largest ever build by Sabdes, or the fastest, but by altering some traditional designs, it could very well be the most friendly to the environment. But don't write it off quite yet, Sabdes has a reputation for building some of the most exciting boats on the water and their newest addition hasn't gotten away from that.

Scott Blee, an Australian Superyacht Stylist, was in charge of the design. He choose to use a slender hull with a reverse bow. The combination will offer better handling on larger waves while giving the Superyacht a top speed of 25 knots. It will also cut the water better and reduce drag. The hull was also made to cause as little impact on marine-life and the marine economy as possible.

Power will be from a new hybrid diesel-electric system. The system incorporates a shaft motor/generator which will capture excess energy and store it in the battery banks. The stored energy can then be used while coming in and out of a harbor to move silently and cause only a small wake.

The design is still in the final stages of refinement and there is no word on pricing.
