"Global defense of sources and press freedoms, circa now," reads the motto for Wikileaks , yet another website founded on the idea of publicly amassed information. This website, though, bares a relevancy that other wikie sites don't because of its humanitarian attempts to make people aware of the underground, corrupt happenings in the world through untraceable mass document leaking and analysis.

The Wikileaks mission statement states:

Our primary interests are in Asia, the former Soviet bloc, Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, but we expect to be of assistance to peoples of all countries who wish to reveal unethical behavior in their governments and corporations. We aim for maximum political impact.

There list of leaks and apparent reach within the annals of some rather heavily guarded environments (governments, corporations, the military) are impressive and you could spend hours searching through posts reading documents and looking at photographs. Some of their most recent and notable leaks reveal insider trading at JP Morgan, a list of rules for the War in Iraq , and uncensored photos from the Tibetan riots. I'm amazing a site like this hasn't been completely gagged. One can only hope that it stays that way, because, as the quote from Time Magazine reads on the homepage, Wikileaks "... could become as important a journalistic tool as the Freedom of Information Act."
